In ancient Japan the sword is dubbed the Soul of the Samurai. During a Thunderstorm, stories say that a Samurai warrior preempted the lightning strike upon hearing the close thunder; cutting through the lightning helped him survive and enchanted the sword. After this incident, the sword was named “Raikiri” (Literal translation: Lightning cutter). The Sword has been cherished and passed down through the Family for generations. Shogo Kaminari is the current welder of Raikiri and has used his powers in ways that no others before him has, making him the most powerful to weld Raikiri to date.
